Safety, reliability and a long service life are essential in the development of trains and other forms of public transport. Doors are used intensively every day and must reliably perform thousands of movements. Within the BIBUS Group, a compact and durable solution was therefore sought for an application in trains to safely decelerate pneumatically operated sliding doors.

Together with manufacturer Metal 99 and damping specialist ACE Stoßdämpfer, a suitable solution using hydraulic shock absorbers was developed. Extensive testing was carried out to demonstrate that the selected shock absorbers were not only suitable for normal operation, but could also withstand exceptional loads.

The prinses Irene sluis is one of the Netherlands’ vital flood control structures, a massive lock system that regulates water levels while allowing vessels to pass safely. Keeping such a structure operational requires careful, consistent mechanical maintenance.

To support this, BIBUS BV recently supplied a custom EasyMotion system designed to improve the sluis’s cable oiling process, a critical step in ensuring the gate’s movement remains smooth, reliable, and safe year after year.

At the Technorama Science Center, visitors can interactively conduct experiments and discover physical phenomena. One of the attractions is a special seesaw, demonstrating the action of lever forces. For the construction of the seesaw, Technorama worked with BIBUS and ACE to develop the appropriate damping. After testing, TUBUS TC83-73-S safety dampers were chosen, which ensure safe and smooth seesaw movement. Thanks to this damping, the seesaw remains both safe and fun for visitors.
