Motion control dampers

Motion control dampers are used as a safety element to control the speed of moving masses. Motion control damping is a general name for special, decelerating easylift products, which can be used for various safety and control functions.

The series of 'standard dampers', for instance, is characterised by its damping over the entire stroke. These dampers are completely filled with oil. Because of their internal mechanism, a small undamped stroke will occur when the piston is pulled out. The incoming and outgoing speed, as well as the effective movement delay of the mass, can be considerably influenced by the use of different flow bores and a different oil viscosity.

Adjustable MC-dampers

If different or not clearly defined damping intensities are required, we recommend the use of adjustable easylift MC-dampers. The damping speed can be ad justed when the damper is mounted.

MC-damper "standard"

This specification with damping over the complete stroke contains only oil. Due to the construction, there will be a small free travel when the piston rod is pulled out. The push-in and push-out speed – i. e. the effective slowing down (motion control) of the movement of a mass – can be influenced considerably by the use of different nozzles as well as by different oil viscosities.

MC-damper with floating piston

If the installation is horizontal or undefined, the free movement of the standard specification can be inconvenient. Therefore, the easylift system also provides also a damping variety with floating piston. The separation of the oil- and gas chamber guarantees a smooth damping movement in every required position. For the stabilization of the floating piston, it must be pressurized by at least 20N. Depending on the position of the floating piston, the damper can be installed stable either in push- or in pull direction.

MC-damper without free travel

This easylift damping variety allows a controlled damping in both directions, without a free travel effect. Here, the piston moves com pletely in a fixed oil chamber. The piston rod volume doesn't influence the oil chamber neither with pushed-in nor with pushed-out piston rod.

HB-damper

With these hydraulic dampers speed in push-in and push-out direction can be adjusted very precisely. The speed is controlled in both directions. The damping intensity of these dampers can be adjusted by turning the piston rod. Please take care during the adjustment that you don't damage the adjustment segment by turning it too strong against the limit stop. In case of considerable resistance, please stop the adjustment.

BIBUS offers several types of dampers for a variety of applications. BIBUS not only offers a standard range of dampers, but also custom dampers that are suitable for your exact application.

Race simulators are becoming increasingly realistic. Especially with the use of pedals, the real racing experience can more or less be simulated. These pedals are used in high-end professional motorsport simulators. Bansbach dampers have previously been used to simulate hydraulic damping as they are used in F1 and LMP vehicles for instance.
