Guide shafts

BIBUS provides 2 different guide shafts:

• N 400 Guide shaft according to DIN 9825.
• N 425 Guide shaft with internal threads on both sides.

Application of guide shafts

• Hardened guide axes with very finely ground surface.
• Suitable for high-precision ball guides.
• For applications with MarMotion guide bushings and ball cages, preload is guaranteed.

Characteristics of guide axles

• Axis diameter (dw) very finely ground and lapped to ISO-h3, Rz <1 μm.
• Rightness within 1/3 ISO-IT3. Straightness less than 5 μm/100 mm.
• Ends with chamfer or provided with a search edge.

Material guide axles

• Diameter dw = 2.5 - 6: material X155 CrVMo 12 1 (1.2379).
• Diameter dw = 8 - 40: material 100 Cr 6 (1.3505) or 16 MnCr 5 (1.7131) or similar ball bearing steel alloys.
• Careful heat treatment.
• Hardness HRC 60-64/HV 720-815.
• Depending on the diameter, there is a minimum hardness depth 0.8 - 1.5 mm (up to diameter dw = 10 hardened).
