This indexing plunger features a pneumatic actuation unit that moves the plunger pin into the correct position and/or retracts it. Optionally, the position of the plunger pin can be monitored using an electronic sensor.
Depending on the version, the plunger pin is extended and retracted pneumatically, or operated by a combination of pneumatic pressure and spring force.
In the event of pressure loss, the plunger pin of the single-acting versions automatically returns to the defined initial position via spring force.
pneumatic actuation for engaging and/or disengaging the locking pin;
suitable for systematic indexing and positioning processes and for installations with limited accessibility;
integrated electronic sensor for position monitoring;
integrable into control systems (e.g., via IO-Link);
high repeat accuracy due to the actuation method;
robust construction, suitable for industrial environments;
type 1: double-acting cylinder;
type 2: single-acting cylinder, spring return on the pin;
type 3: single-acting cylinder , pin moved to indexing position by spring force;
type 4: double-acting cylinder with sensor;
type 5: single-acting cylinder , spring return on the pin, with sensor;
type 6: single-acting cylinder, pin moved to indexing position by spring force, with sensor;
temperature range from minimum -25°C to maximum 75°C.
Assembly:
1. slide the sensor sideways into the sensor clip;
2. hand-tighten the sensor's set screw with light manual force (max. 0.1 Nm);
3. snap the sensor clip into the annular groove of the plunger pin at the required position;
4. rotate the sensor clip to adjust the cable outlet direction as desired;
5. during commissioning, teach the sensor the end positions via the control element
or via IO-Link, in accordance with the operating instructions supplied with the sensor.
The sensor and sensor clip are supplied separately and can be mounted using the included hex key. The cable outlet direction can be selected individually during assembly.
Note: to prevent malfunctions, magnetic fields must not interfere with the plunger pin.
