When a pre-defined torque limit is exceeded, the coupling halves, and thus the input and output sides, disengage swiftly and reliably. These couplings operate using the proven ball catch principle. Typical applications include construction machinery such as excavators, crushers, shredders, and tunnel boring machines, as well as rolling mills, steel plants, turbines, and industrial conveyor systems. At the core of the TNT Safety Couplings are standardized, specially designed switching units, with up to twelve units positioned around the coupling's circumference. This design allows for exceptional flexibility regarding disengagement torque, coupling size, and design.
