BIBUS in practice: Kwerkus' innovative solution for remote workers

Remote working has introduced us to a large number of unknown displeasure and irritations. The ergonomic working conditions of the office had to be brought home as much as possible. How do you deal with this as an employer or employee?

Home office not only delivered the joy of skipping traffic and working efficiently from home. Remote work also created new problems. The freedom to work not only in the office but also in the garden brought unknown problems. The sun may be a welcome sight, but the sun's rays often do not benefit productivity. Our laptop screens are not made to work in the sun.

Fortunately, a solution to this problem is being worked on. Kim from the Flemish Kwerkus has designed three unique pieces of furniture that make remote working more enjoyable. To ensure that the furniture offers high flexibility, BIBUS was allowed to think along with positioning solutions. In this product application you can read more about this unique furniture.

Innovative furniture for remote work

The three pieces of furniture are part of Kim's bachelor thesis. The investigation into complaints related to remote working provided Kim with a complete set of requirements that the furniture had to meet. The product for which BIBUS has supplied components has also been designed based on these requirements.

The product of Kwerkus in question offers a solution for one of the biggest annoyances about working outside with a laptop: sunlight shining on the screen and the related reflection on the screen. The furniture provides a shadow for the screen and an even background, so that the reflection disappears from the screen.

The furniture is not designed for full working days, but rather as a welcome change from working at the kitchen table. The index plungers supplied by BIBUS ensure that the height of the work platform can easily be adjusted to the height of the remote worker. In the render below, the function of the locking bolt is clearly visible.

Index plungers bolts from BIBUS

The solution for positioning in Kwerbus furniture can be found in a weldable index plunger, which can be attached either with glue or welding. This sleeve of this particular index plunger is made of weldable blackened steel, as is the index pin itself. The knob is black nylon (PA 6). The index plunger has a temperature range of -30°C to a maximum of 80°C, which is of course sufficient for use in the garden.

In addition to this article, you will find a diverse range of index plungers in our webshop. The range ranges from smooth, weldable indexing bolts to threaded versions for direct mounting. Various designs and dimensions are available.

BIBUS likes to think along with you in the field of assembly, development and other areas. Do you need tailor-made advice? Our specialists will tell you more about the use of these and other mechanical components from our webshop without obligation.
