Heusinkveld Engineering

What started as a childhood dream has since grown into a company with 30 employees. Heusinkveld was and still is a pioneer in the field of pedals for sim racing. This ambition can be traced back to the passion for (sim) racing of the founders of the Groningen company. Where Heusinkveld started seven years ago with five sets of pedals, today about 1000 sets are produced per month. The quality of the pedals has not gone unnoticed. Heusinkveld is, among other things, the official supplier to the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports Team.

The pride of the company is the set of pedals for professional use, the Sim Pedals Ultimate. These pedals are used for the most advanced motorsport simulations. Heusinkveld's proposition is that E-sporters should not experience any difference with the pedals of F1 and LMP cars. The Bansbach dampers from BIBUS are used in this model of pedals.

Collaboration from the start

BIBUS worked together with Heusinkveld in order to achieve the ultimate racing experience. This was not an easy task. One of Heusinkveld's requirements was that the pedals must have a longer life than the pedals in F1 racing cars. While F1 pedals are replaced after 80 to 100 hours of use, the Heusinkveld pedals have been tested in order to sustain at least one million movements. Bansbach dampers helped to achieve this durability.

BIBUS has been involved in the product development to share its expertise with Heusinkveld from day one. Initially, a damper with variable damping was chosen. This allowed the engineers of Heusinkveld to adjust the damper as desired themselves.

Ultimately, the choice fell on customer-specific Bansbach motion control dampers with a piston diameter of 6 mm and a cylinder diameter of 15 mm. This small size makes the dampers ideal for integration into the pedals.

The Sim Pedals Ultimate set has a total of three pedals. The brake and clutch pedals are fitted with two-way dampers. As a result, the user experiences both damping when entering and exiting the cylinder. The accelerator is fitted with a one-way damper. These features make the pedals in use indistinguishable from the real thing.
