Torsionally rigid and absolutely backlash-free, the steel disc couplings of the new TND series—originating from the proven TSCHAN® POSIMIN® and GERWAH® series—are ideal for a wide range of applications. They are particularly suited for drive tasks that demand wear and maintenance-free operation, excellent misalignment compensation, and precise positioning accuracy. The key functional component of these powerful couplings is the disc packs, developed through in-depth FEM analysis. These packs consist of multiple circular, torsionally flexible single discs made of stainless spring steel, connected by high-precision sleeves to form a compact unit. High-strength screws, and if necessary, mounted spacers, alternately connect the disc packs to the coupling hubs. This configuration ensures that the required torque is transmitted reliably, precisely, and safely through the steel discs, which are loaded by tension and compression. Simultaneously, it guarantees effective compensation for angular, axial, and, depending on the coupling type, also radial shaft misalignments with minimal restoring forces. Thanks to the unitized design of the series and the extensive, highly flexible modular system, there is always a coupling version available that is optimally suited for the applications specific requirements.
