Elastomer Jaw couplings
RINGFEDER® offers world-leading Elastomer Jaw Couplings from the GWE, TNM, TNS, and TNB series, originally from the GERWAH® and TSCHAN® lines. These couplings meet high performance and durability standards across various sectors, including steel, metal, power generation, and automation. They are designed to effectively compensate for axial, lateral, and angular misalignments, providing flexibility and puncture resistance. With excellent robustness and damping characteristics, they ensure maximum operational reliability in challenging conditions. Customized coupling solutions are available based on specific requirements, and easily exchangeable elastomer rings come in various shore hardnesses to suit different applications.
Metal bellows couplings GWB
RINGFEDER® GWB series metal bellows couplings are highly precise, torsionally stiff, and backlash-free, making them ideal for applications requiring accurate torque transmission between shafts. Commonly used in machine tools, packaging machines, medical technology, and robotics, these couplings effectively compensate for radial, axial, and angular misalignments due to their stainless steel construction. They are wear- and maintenance-free, easy to install, compact, and have a low moment of inertia, ensuring maximum cost-efficiency and operational reliability, whether in standard or custom designs.
Steel disc couplings
The RINGFEDER® TND series features torsionally rigid, backlash-free steel disc couplings, derived from the proven TSCHAN® POSIMIN® and GERWAH® series. These couplings excel in applications that demand wear-free, maintenance-free operation along with excellent misalignment compensation and positioning accuracy. Their innovative design includes disc packs made of stainless spring steel, connected by high-precision sleeves and secured with high-strength screws, ensuring reliable torque transmission through tension and compression. This design allows for effective compensation of angular, axial, and, depending on the type, radial shaft misalignments with minimal restoring forces. With a flexible modular system, users can find a coupling version tailored to their specific needs.
Gear couplings
The RINGFEDER® TNZ series features torsionally rigid and low-backlash gear couplings, previously known as TSCHAN® TNZ and POSIFLEX®. Constructed from high-strength steel, these couplings are designed for heavy-duty applications where extremely high torques need to be transmitted, such as in conveyor systems, mixers, and rolling mills. They utilize crowned hubs that mesh with straight-toothed sleeves to ensure positive torque transmission. The couplings offer high power densities and effectively compensate for axial, radial, and angular shaft misalignments. With high-quality grease lubrication and ultra-high pressure additives, they achieve minimal restoring forces for reliable, nearly wear-free operation. Their unique modular system provides flexibility for customizing coupling designs to meet specific application requirements.
Barrel couplings
RINGFEDER® Barrel Couplings of the TNK series (formerly TSCHAN® TK) are designed for optimal connection between the gearbox output shaft and rope drum in cranes and hoists. They are also suitable for applications involving radial loads, such as lifting platforms and winch conveyors. These couplings are torsionally rigid, easy to assemble and maintain thanks to an integrated inner cover, and they effectively compensate for axial and angular misalignments. Torque is transmitted via steel barrel rollers within circular troughs, ensuring safe transfer of radial forces. The outer cover features a special lip seal to prevent contamination and lubricant leakage, while an integrated wear indicator allows for quick and easy condition monitoring.
Flange couplings
RINGFEDER® Flange Couplings of the TNF series are compact, highly robust, and easy to assemble and maintain. They provide a reliable, absolutely backlash-free connection between two shafts through frictional locking, serving as a more powerful and cost-effective alternative to traditional press fits. Assembly involves simply pushing the flange halves onto the shaft ends and securing them with shrink discs and screws, eliminating the need for additional components like keyways or heating. These couplings are torsionally rigid, exhibit high concentricity, and accommodate large shaft tolerances. They effectively transmit high torques, bending loads, and axial and radial forces without wear. Common applications include gearbox, engine, and plant construction, as well as belt drives in mining.
Torsional high-flex couplings
The RINGFEDER® TNR series Torsional Highflex Couplings (formerly TSCHAN® TNR) feature innovative, non-shiftable designs that allow for flexible adjustment of dynamic torsional spring stiffness. This capability enables smoother start-ups and vibration-optimized operation of the entire drive train. The coupling stiffness is tailored to specific drive conditions through the careful selection and combination of elastic buffers. Designed for use with combustion engines, these couplings can accommodate angular, radial, and axial shaft misalignments. They are ideal for various applications, including construction machinery (like excavators and cranes), power generation (wind and hydro power plants), and pumps and compressors. Highly compact and user-friendly, the couplings can also be made puncture-proof with simple modifications, facilitating easy installation and maintenance.
Safety couplings
The RINGFEDER® TNT series mechanical safety couplings (formerly TSCHAN® TNT) provide maximum safety for extreme applications in the heavy-duty industry. Designed for overload protection, these couplings quickly and reliably separate the input and output sides when a pre-defined torque limit is exceeded, operating on the proven ball catch principle. Commonly used in building and construction machinery such as excavators, crushers, and tunnel boring machines, as well as in rolling mills, turbines, and industrial conveyor systems, these couplings feature standardized switching units that allow for up to twelve units around the circumference, offering exceptional flexibility in disengagement torque and coupling design. The TNT series also effectively compensates for shaft misalignment, ensuring easy installation and handling with absolute backlash-free operation
