Electric opening and closing of doors
The Gelderland company Metalworks has designed and manufactured the custom-made steel facade for the Republic in Bloemendaal. Metalworks specializes in customer-specific steel and brass solutions, such as steel stairs, steel facades and steel doors.
The Republic has two black facades on either side of the building. Two synchronously running easyE-60 actuators per door ensure that the door can be opened and closed effortlessly. This means that each hatch can be operated separately via the external control.
Due to the relatively long stroke length of the facade, a standard solution was not sufficient. The power and speed of the easyE-60 actuator were not sufficient for the stroke length. As a result, the duty cycle would not work out properly. This has been solved by Metalworks by placing a counterweight in the valve. As a result, less force is required to open the hatch, so that a higher speed could be achieved.
